Dreamin' n Catchin' - The Presentation

Mini-Company

Today we all had to present our mini company products to everyone. We went straight to the hall in the morning. We then all began to set up our stands. Each group used two tables to display their products on. We decorated our table with a pretty table cloth. Then we stuck up a sign saying "Dreamin' n Catchin' " behind us. We stuck a dreamcatcher at each top corner of the poster. Then we decorated our stand. To do this, we scattered feathers, beads, balls of wool, embroidery threads, and metal hoops over the desk - This was to show the judges what materials we used when making the dreamcatchers. We then hung four dreamcatchers on the front of our stand - One at each corner and two in the middle of the stand. Then we placed our report folder in the middle of the desk (Great creativity, I know).

We then sat down and waited patiently for the judges to come around to us and to inspect our stand. They seemed impressed with our presentation (jk not, Ms Leahy, one of the judges, thought that a few of the scattered feathers were dreamcatchers haaaa).

When both of the judges were finishing inspecting everyone's stands, we all had to sit and listen as each group went up individually and gave the judges an overall report of their mini company. Me and Wildcat were dreading going up, as was Chloe PAPER Quinn, but once you got up there it wasn't too bad and it was over quickly enough. We sat for ages listening to other groups then we got to have lunch.

After lunch, we had to go back to listen to the results. There were 3 awards given to different and 2 groups got to go through to the next round in Naas. iProtect and Bam Beauty got through. Not us. Yipee.

Carton House

Art trip

We went to Carton House for an art trip on Tuesday. But at the same time, all the Irish rugby players were there! So I don't think anyone even bothered to look at the of the art. Instead, we all followed the players around, waiting for them to come out of the gym so we could get pictures with them.

But much to our teachers embarrassment, we had been obsessing over them for so long that many of the players waiting to come out and leave waited until we were all on our buses. But luckily for me, our bus driver was very nice and drove around again so that we could all stare and scream (and also drool) over them one last time. What a fun day.

Dreamin' n Catchin'

Mini Company Idea

In my mini company group is me, Wildcat Crickerz (Saz C), Cliodhna, Shauna and Chloe. Our mini company idea is to create and design our own dreamcatchers. We hope that they will be very popular and that they will appeal to many girls in the school.

In our group, Chloe is the managing director, me and Wildcat are in charge of the marketing and advertising, Shauna is the finance person and Cliodhna is in charge of researching items needed for the product.

Fun Walk

Fun Walk

Today we had the fun walk. Our tutor is Mr Lawlor, so we decided to dress him up as a girl (he looked fab). Our dance was very good, in my opinion. We had a variety of music and dance moves in it. The colour for TY was yellow, we based our class around Beauty and the Beast (because Belle in it wears a yellow dress, and also cause our class's base name is Belle). After everyone performed, we had to do the walk. It didn't even seem long, as I was having fun with my friends along the way. Even though we didn't win, we all still enjoyed it.

Carlingford

Carlingford

DAY 1:

We went to Carlingford for two days. Ms Leonard, Ms Hughes, and Ms O'Callaghan came with us. We all had to be ready very early on Monday morning. We had to be at Esso for 7am. Me and Cliodhna were there on time, dragging our suitcases full of clothes (but mainly food) with us. It wasn't long until we were on on the bus. The bus journey was fun. I was very tired at the start but after a while I got over it and had lots of fun and ate lots of food :)))

We got there after around two hours. We were then put into rooms. I was in one of the big rooms for 12 people but only 11 people stayed in it. Cliodhna, Clodagh, Shauna and Wildcat Crickerz (Saz C) were in my room.

After this, we were all introduced to all the instructors. My favourite instructer was Teddy. For the rest of the morning, we did water sports. We had to wear wet suits and then we got in a canoe and had to row over to Dave. Here, he poured a bucket of water over us!! LMAO!!!!!!

After we had lunch and then we went and did different bonding games/challenges. They were fun, but it was a pity that we didn't get to do the skyline, as it looked very good.

At 5, we were back in the centre and had dinner. At 7, we did a nightline challenge - This was where we were blindfolded and were made walk around the forest, following the person infron of us. It was very fun and enjoyable.

We stayed in our rooms when we went back to the centre after the nightline challenge. We all ate even more food and talked and had a good time.

DAY 2:

They woke up very early. I wasn't happy as I hate getting up early lol. We had to pack our bags and then clean our room. Then we headed down for breakfast. Then we went kayaking and played games.
After kayaking, we returned to the centre yet again for lunch. We then went to the forest again and did laser tag. This was sooooo fun and I really enjoyed it. I would love to do it again.

After the laser tag, it was time to go home. I sat beside Cliodhna on the way home. All we did was eat and sleep (a lot).

I really enjoyed Carlingford. I feel like I've bonded with so much girls in my year who I never would've if we were in school. It's helped me to make lots of new friends. I hope that in the future we can all go again.
